Alva Hicks, Charlie Ionata and Robert Heppenstall all recorded first-place finishes in Wake Forest's first event of the indoor track season. Hicks set a school record in the weight throw.

The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams will begin their indoor season at Saturday's JDL College Kick-Off Classic.

Wake Forest student athletes participated in Project Pumpkin Wednesday, helping pass out candy to kids from the Winston-Salem area ahead of Halloween night.

The Demon Deacons will host five indoor meets and one outdoor meet. The indoor track season begins on Dec. 5 at the JDL College Kick-Off Classic in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Rising sophomore John Maurins and incoming freshmen Robert Heppenstal and Alexandria Florent competed at the 2015 Pan American Junior Games July 31-August 2 at Foote Field.

Six members of the Wake Forest track & field program earned USTFCCCA All-Academic team honors last week while both programs were honored for stellar work in the classroom.
