Senior Avion Jones captured his second high jump event title in as many tries this indoor season, leading the East Carolina track and field programs to five top three finishes at the Camel City Invitational inside the JDL Fast Track facility.

The East Carolina track and field program resumes its indoor schedule this weekend, traveling to Winston-Salem, N.C. for the Camel City Invitational. The meet is scheduled for Friday and Saturday (Jan. 29-30) at the JDL Fast Track.

Senior jumper Avion Jones has been named the American Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week according to an announcement by the league Tuesday.

Senior Avion Jones entered the 2016 campaign with the highest of expectations not only at the conference level, but also nationally.

The East Carolina track and field program begins its 2016 indoor season this weekend with participation in the Dick Taylor Carolina Cup Friday and the UNC Open Saturday.
