For the second-straight year the Western Carolina University men's and women's track & field teams swept the Southern Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. The championships is the third-straight for the women and second-straight for the men. On the women's side senior Xaviera Bass was named co-Most Outstanding Female Athlete with Furman's Allie Buchalski. Bass was also named co-Most Outstanding Field Performer with teammate senior Alisha Bradshaw. On the men's side junior Jared Johnson earned his second-straight Most Outstanding Field Performer while freshman Brenden Caldwell was named Freshman of the Year. Head coach Danny Williamson won Coach of the Year awards for both the men's and the women's teams.
