[Men's Cross Country] Runner-up finish by Beaver paces Cross Country at home openerPublished by
Laurinburg, NC- The St. Andrews University Cross Country team hosted their first home meet in a few years on Friday evening as they hosted 3 colleges plus a few high schools and middle schools. On the men's side, only two teams competed with Columbia International winning by default due to having enough runners to qualify for the team score. St. Andrews only had 4 runners entered in the race, one short of the needed 5 to score points. Drew Lindman of CIU won the 5K with a time of 16:59 topping SAU's freshman Danzel Jefferson who came in 2nd at 17:13. Junior Tyler Beaver then finished 4th at 18:05 while freshman Chase Kopp came in 6th at 19:24. Fellow freshman Michael Hare rounded out the Knight runners with a time of 20:28 in 8th place. The cross country team is next in action this Friday evening as they travel to Wilmington, NC to compete in the Adidas Seahawk Invitational. Read the full article at: www.sauknights.com
